olai (ஓலை) is the Tamil word for leaf. Palm leaf in this context. It is the surface on which Tamil literature was inscribed on for two thousand years before paper reached South India.
Sangam-era poetry, classical literature, and religious texts all lived on dried palm leaves, etched with a stylus.
Olai is is a digital writing tool in the same spirit.
